Bel Canto Singers ‘ spring journey of Common Ground takes them to the south.

Hesston College Bel Canto Singers did go west for a springtime break visit March 8 to 19 with appearances in Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and Kansas. The 19- words combined room singing, under the direction of Dr. Russell Adrian and accompanied by Ken Rodgers, will provide a program titled” Common Ground”. The system is inspired by the content” On the Common Ground” written by Alice Parker out of problem for the many rooms that have appeared to separate world. The music features a singing and accompanied functions with particular music by soloists and little ensembles.

The music will be a collaboration with singers from nearby Mennonite high schools in some places.
The Bel Canto Singers, Hesston College’s top musical outfit, will enter their 40th year in the 2023–2024 academic time. During Homecoming, an students singing gathered to commemorate this occasion, and Bel Canto graduates are encouraged to join the chorus on journey in Harrisonburg and Goshen.
Students from a wide range of disciplines can incorporate music into their school experience thanks to Bel Canto Singers. Every year, the band performs lengthy music and travelling schedules. These options for achievement develop leadership abilities that will benefit students in their future endeavors. Shows for VOCES8, Chanticleer, the King’s Singers, Charles Bruffy, and the Rose Ensemble have all recently made juried images.
National artist, arranger, and wire Alice Parker established Melodious Accord, a specialized chorus with which she released 14 songs. Later in her life, Parker had insightful discussions with well-known guitarists about bringing people together. Her Melodious Accord site has a video of these meetings.
