Finnair, the Finnish airline, is on track to revive flight operations between Tartu and Helsinki by the end of March, according to city officials.
The airline emerged as the sole bidder for Tartu’s flight service procurement, committing to operate 12 weekly flights. Originally slated to commence in January, the agreement has encountered a delay.

Juri Molder, the secretary of Tartu City Council, revealed that following discussions with the airline, the launch date is now expected to be pushed back by three months. This delay, Finnair explained, allows them additional time for comprehensive marketing strategies aimed at mitigating expectations for compensations.
Details concerning flight schedules, including summer timetables, were deliberated during the discussions.
