Its name is Neom Airlines and it will be Saudi Arabia’s third state-owned airline (after Saudia and the newly formed Riyadh Airlines), scheduled to take off at the end of 2024 or within the first quarter of 2025, with a precise focus on connections to the futuristic urban area of Neom Bay.

The start-up will provide “a world-class travel experience” to passengers traveling to and from Neom, catering to both leisure and business traffic, CEO Klaus Goersch told the Future Travel Experience website, taken from Ch-Aviation.

“The final route development plan is being drawn up, but of course, major regional and global gateways are prime candidates. We work closely with all Neom stakeholders and projects to align our “go to market” strategy.

After all, we are the engine of the destination, so the alignment between Neom projects is absolutely fundamental,” he added, specifying that the new company, “will not compete with Saudia or Riyadh Airlines.”

“Every airline has a clear strategy: be a global network carrier (Riyadh Air), focus on religious traffic (Saudia), or be a dedicated destination airline. Our aim is to serve the destination from global international markets.”

Neom is an urban project under construction on the Red Sea coast in northwest Saudi Arabia.
