TSA Expects a record-breaking vacation time.

CHARLOTTE, N. C. – The unofficial start to summers is right around the corner, and first projections are pointing toward a time filled with journey, as TSA expects to set new records this summer. This Memorial Day weekend, according to AAA, nearly 44 million people may go 50 miles or more away from home. Almost 3, 500, 000 of them are expected to travel by air, a nine percentage raise compared to 2019, according to AAA.
” What we’re seeing today, as in 2024, four centuries after the crisis, the vacation market has really come up in a large way”, Aixa Diaz with AAA said.
According to Diaz, Memorial Day vacation paints a portrait of what can be expected of summer vacation. Based on their projections, the year is expected to remain sizzling hot.
The Transportation Security Administration ( TSA ) anticipates setting new records this summer. The firm anticipates screening more than three million people during busy summer time.
” Flights are going to be packed. If you’ve flown recently, you know that most flights these days do n’t have many empty seats left”, Diaz said. ” People are flying in great numbers”.
With about 38 million people driving in identical numbers to last year’s gas prices, according to Diaz, road trips are expected to set a fresh record.
