Today, December 4th, is the day in the city of Singapore. On May 13th, 2023, Marriott International and Singapore Airlines (SIA) declared a deepening of their mutual affiliation, which offers members of Marriott Bonvoy and KrisFlyer, the SIA Group’s rewards program, with further opportunities to take full advantage of their rewards. Beginning today, suitable members of the two schemes may qualify for a status match, allowing them to gain a higher level of elite status quicker than before. In January 2023, an agreement that allows members of both programs to transfer their points and miles between each other was announced. This collaboration has now been further extended, enabling Marriott Bonvoy members to convert their points into KrisFlyer miles and the other way around. John Toomey, Marriott International’s Chief Sales and Marketing Officer for the Asia Pacific region excluding China, expressed his excitement about the widened partnership with Singapore Airlines, which will afford members the opportunity to make the most out of their journeys and receive special rewards from the chain’s expansive collection of 8,700 hotels and resorts and 30 individual brands. This is an important achievement that not just symbolizes the growth of our international airline programme, but also shows how devoted we are to continuously develop our customer dedication policy. Mr Dai Haoyu, the Acting Senior Vice President for Marketing Planning at Singapore Airlines, stated that the company is building a stronger relationship with Marriott, so that users of the KrisFlyer program will be able to access even more advantages, while having more chances to earn and use up their points and miles. The timing of this is ideal given the high demand for travel to abroad.
