ICY CONDITIONS FOR HAZARDOUS CHRISTMAS TRAVEL

A significant winter storm may be affecting our region from Christmas Afternoon into Tuesday, as predicted by the LRC. The timing of this event is anticipated to be as follows: Sleet and freezing rain will arrive in the valley from the west! Most of this from the Valley west will be in the form of freezing weather or sleet as night approaches, while lakes region will continue to be primarily weather. Driving conditions from the Valley west will be extremely hazardous as a result, and rain will continue to be the main factor in regions from DL west toward Alex. According to the existing models, 25 to 30 inches of freezing rain are POSSIBLE in the F/M area after 8 p.m. this evening. The valley’s WEST is where the worst situations are located by about 25 to 50 yards. where some regions had experience up to 1/2″ of melting rain, which could result in some power outages. MONDAY AFTERNOON FROM THE WEST IS NOT RECOMMENDED FOR TRAVEL. On Tuesday, weather will combine with and eventually turn into winter. It is possible for small buildup.
