Hilton Buys Graduate Hotels Brand for$ 210 Million

Hilton announced today that it and Adventurous Journeys Capital Partners have reached an agreement to buy the Graduate Hotels company. This action provides a significant opportunity for Hilton to expand in the fast expanding life hotel market.
Hilton will invest$ 210 million to acquire the entire Student model worldwide. This includes entering franchise agreements with all future and existing Graduate Hotels as well as taking over the reins of the brand’s growth and development. Over 35 administrative and approaching Graduate qualities, which will be operated under Hilton franchise agreements for the long term, will remain under the control of AJ Capital.
In the event that the transaction is completed in the second quarter, pending the fulfillment of common shutting conditions, such as the necessary assessment and endorsement under Hart-Scott-Rodino, the transaction is scheduled to close. From this partnership, Hilton will immediately see a positive effect. The price contribution for the first twelve months of ownership is anticipated to be about$ 16 million.
Graduate Hotels will now be included in Hilton’s international portfolio, offering many travelers exceptional kindness in their preferred college towns. Each Graduate resort embodies the native record, charm, and nostalgia, showcasing the peculiar character of its associated university. These accommodations create an excellent environment for gamedays, meetings, graduations, college visits, and more. Since its creation in 2014, the company has expanded across the United States and the United Kingdom, with places in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Knoxville, Tennessee, Palo Alto, California, State College, Pennsylvania, and Oxford and Cambridge, United Kingdom. However, new hotels will immediately start in Austin and Dallas, Texas, Auburn, Alabama, and Princeton, New Jersey.
Hilton’s expanding life collection will now include the Graduate product, joining other successful projects like Canopy by Hilton, Curio Collection by Hilton, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, Tempo by Hilton, and Motto by Hilton. Each of these brands has been updated by Hilton over the past ten years to better serve the growing demand for real and personal travel experiences.
