Notice All Resorts Available
I know because that’s precisely what my friend and I did late. Ten fantastic days spent in Tui Blue, Falesia, sipped off to the Portuguese sunlight. A top resort in a remote Algarve location with all the bells, whistles, and comfort to make you smile for weeks and weeks.
Getting that
We left Bristol airports, and as soon as we climbed aboard and climbed up above the clouds, we were soaked in unending light. Filling our hearts and leaving the house. After a nice two hours journey, we landed at Faro in Portugal.
Before actually getting on our move to the lodge, we had shed winter sweaters and hairy caps, replacing them with short, flip flop and sunglasses. Hello, delight!
Lodge
When you book a deal, you not really know what you’re going to get, until you get it. This lodge, in my opinion, ticked every field that could be expected. And more.
As soon as we entered the lobby, we may tell it was a posh, luxurious, and decidedly upmarket area. As far as the eye may see, the chairs, sofas, and carvings had polished marble floors, ceiling-high glass walls, and other stand-out elegant touches. Every time we passed by, there was a Tdi helpdesk staffed by knowledgeable and helpful staff members. Which was really, really useful.
Throughout the resort, the elegant touches continued. With a large, sun speckled bar area, great for a silent drink, overlooking a giant pool, ideal for a quick dip. While outside we wandered, the grounds were beautifully manicured, as if every plant, stone and blade of grass had been given personal attention.
Would n’t be surprised if they had been. Throughout our keep, the personnel were beautiful. Often on hand when required, good, friendly and master of remembering faces, likes and dislikes. Made us feel like VIP’s from start to finish.
Room
Our place was a big, bright and sun soaked twice. Also stocked with wardrobes, it also had a beautiful bath, huge king sized, twin bed and plenty of room to expand out in, as well as not one, but two, great balconies.
which each had various daytime sun exposure. One faced out to sea while the other faced the lake. As the sun made its sluggish manner across the bright blue sky, allowing us to choose shelter or sunshine. Particularly impressive was the sunset’s gradual descent over the headland plants. Most magnificent.
Food &amp, Sip
When it came to food and drink, the hotel offered various plans, but we went for the all diverse. Which meant that we could only go to their fantastic, buffet-style cafe three days per day.
The menu changes daily, so there is usually plenty to touch the palate. Every food featured a whole host of choices, seafood, meat, pasta, vegans. Whatever your favorite aroma, there was always something positive to encourage.
The whole fry-up breakfast and the sporadic oven-baked cheesecake, which I think are Portugal’s best, were my favorites. Must say, I do n’t disagree. was as delicious and refreshing as a piece of heaven.
Of program, one of the dangers of buffet style food, it allows you to have as much, or as little, as you wish. Giving you to decide when to put the knife along is a challenging task. I’ll be honest, there were times when I completely overdid the main program. And the pastries. Sigh.
À La Carte
If you want to actually drive the boat away, there is always the, À La Carte Restaurant. We had a date night evening it, and the food was fantastic, the mood was light, and it was the best way to end a truly wonderful day. Thoroughly recommended.
Pleasure
In the evenings, the club doubles up, either as a calm place to taste in harmony or, by moving through to the club, becoming an entertainment hub.
Soon, we made it a habit to go there for a few drinks after supper, including a cup of tea for my friend and a sip of something slightly more significant for me. Turns out they do n’t just release port wine; they also do a fine line in bottled beers.
Spa &amp, Pool
A quick walk down a corridor led us to the Spa &amp, Pool, a private area of the location with a large indoor pool, outstanding bath &amp, steam room, and fully equipped gym.
The piece de resistance though, was the resort. My friend popped along for a massage one night and returned looking radiant, feeling exquisite and smelling, very simply, divine. She gave it a effectively deserved, ten out of ten.
Beach &amp, Rocks
The resort sits on top of some very lovely cliffs, a mixture of abundant reds, smooth oranges and warm yellow sandstones.
There are wooden steps down from the lodge, leading to the smooth sandy shore, Praia de Falésia, which stretches out for miles in either direction. It’s the ideal location for a stroll along the water’s edge, a swim in the sea, or a sunbathe.
Whatever floats under your dance table. To add to the beauty, twitter just gave it an honor for being,’ Best of the Best Beaches – in the World.’ which is good for a beach that is close to your home!
Local Monuments
The sleepy village of Olhos d’Aqua, which roughly translates as “water eye,” refers to the new ocean waters that emerge at reduced flood after a five-minute trek along the road.
Down by the sea, it was picture-postcard beautiful, with tons of attraction, many seaside cafes, and a wharf for local anglers to release their boats. Well worth a visit. Or three.
Excursions
would have been a lot simpler for us to spend the majority of our time in and around the hotel. However, we wanted to take some time away from the neighborhood and made up plans to go on a few day trips. Very glad we did. First excursion was,’ The Best of the East.’
A coach that took us to three towns on the Algarve’s eastern side. A slower paced part of the coast, with more historic buildings, architectural eye candy and cutesy scenery, than a biscuit box at Christmas.
We then went shopping inquaint cobbled alleyways, sipping coffee in shaded squares, or watching storks fly overhead as they returned from their massive rooftop nests, all of which meant we spent the day exploring boutiques on cute cobbled alleyways. All very lovely indeed.
We then made a second trip to Loulé, a nearby town, where we had Saturday markets on Saturday ( pronounced Low-Lay ). With stalls selling everything from fish, fruit and vegetables, to shoes and scarves. another enjoyable day.
Finding an entire square dedicated to a chocolate market was a particularly sweet find. Mmm.
Conclusion
If you are looking for a sunshine getaway, at any time of year, a quiet spot by the sea where you can relax in peace, whilst also being softly spoilt, from dawn till dusk. This might just be the place you’re looking for if you want to go somewhere that’s also a place where you can go out and explore nearby delights.
In their brochures, Tui Blue claim that on a holiday with them you will,’ Live Happy.’ Must say, we definitely did. And then some. Ten days of toptastic, delicious, decadent, delight. Brilliant.
